Rhynchostylis gigantea is a species of orchid that was first described in 1896 and found in Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hainan China, Borneo, Bangladesh, Northeast India and the Philippines. Rhynchostylis differs from Vanda by the one-lobed lip.
It has become a collector's item in recent years because of its unusual color forms. These varieties have a spicy fragrance whether they bloom in summer or winter.
Best grown in warm and humid climate.
Grow in medium to bright light and water when just dry except when in flower.
